It’s not every day you get to stay overnight in your local park! But for the lucky families who attended our Centennial Park Family Bush Camp last night, they got to experience an overnighter in the park and make some magic memories along the way.
Our families enjoyed a shared afternoon tea, bush craft activities with Harry from Barefooted NZ, a bush walk with Ranger Anna from Auckland Parks and stream activities with Aileen from Whitebait Connection- .
Later on our families learned about predator control, followed by a BBQ dinner and then made campfire donuts – delicious! After sundown we went bug hunting by torchlight, before retiring to our tents for the night.
Thanks to everyone who helped to make this special, unique event happen – a wonderful example of community collaboration at its best
